En este episodio Martín Garrido Lepe y Beatriz Rodriguez-Satizabal conversan con Carolina Román Ramos, doctora en Historia Económica de la Universidad de Barcelona y profesora agregada de la Facultad de Ciencias Económica y de Administración, de la Universidad de la República, Uruguay. Su tesis busca brindar nuevas miradas y aportes empíricos sobre aspectos de los niveles de vida relacionados con el consumo y el poder adquisitivo de los salarios para algunos países de América del Sur entre la Primera Globalización y la Segunda Posguerra Mundial. La tesis responde a preguntas tales como: ¿cómo se vieron afectados los niveles de vida en América Latina durante la Globalización? ¿Existió convergencia en estos niveles? ¿Cómo cambió esta situación luego de la Gran Depresión? Y también, si hubo efectos del crecimiento económico en los niveles de bienestar. La Red de Historia Económica Iberoamericana (RHEI) es una organización que busca ayudar en la difusión de las investigaciones de los y las jóvenes investigadores de la Historia Económica Iberoamericana. En este espacio difundido por NBN Español realizamos una serie de entrevistas donde autores recién graduados presentan sus tesis doctorales. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
