Contact (1997)

Randy and Kris are joined by anti-burnout coach, and podcast host, Nicole Havelka to dive deep into one of the formative films of her life: Contact (1997). We cover everything from interstellar transmissions to a killer performance from Jodie Foster. We compare this piece of media to other important cultural texts, and most importantly, we explore the intersection of science and faith. As always, the panel wraps up the chat with an extra credit section in which we pick our “Bardo Buddies” and take home a prop from the filmTo be the first to hear about Nicole’s new podcast, Just Rest: Burnout Tips for Everyday Radicals, follow or subscribe to her on Substack, follow her on Bluesky or subscribe to her YouTube. The trailer drops Dec. 18, the first three episodes on January 1, 2026!Want to get in touch? Visit our website & YouTube page!
