Contending For The Faith

In the first century there were false teachers creeping into the Christian movement. Their error was so severe that it threatened to undermine and corrupt the faith of these early Christ followers. Yet in some ways their tactics are so subtle that many miss what is happening right before their very eyes. Jude wanted to write a letter about “the salvation we share.” His hope was to write an encouraging letter reinforcing the gospel. Instead he had to issue a dire warning to wake up the church.This letter is timely for us even today. We are to contend for the faith. We defend it. We must understand it.
