When you became a follower of Jesus did you have lofty expectations of how life was going to be for you once you started following? If you did, those expectations are usually influenced by the culture we live in and also by our innate desire to have the ‘struggles’ of life minimized. However, nowhere does Scripture imply that life will be easier. Jesus tells us that life on earth will be hard, but the Way of Jesus always has the upper hand.
