Contentment

Wanting better circumstances can leave people less happy and more anxious. Paul writes from prison, facing possible execution, yet says he has learned contentment in both need and abundance. This peace is neither self-reliance nor passive acceptance. It grows as people submit to Jesus as sovereign, serve Him as Saviour, and depend on His daily strength for what God calls them to do.
