On this episode of Control Room, Ryan and I discuss why spending big money on the most powerful cards in EDH is not necessary for winning EDH games or having fun. We argue that building budget decks and/or running functional alternatives to format "staples" can still help you win, even if they are not necessarily functionally better than more expensive cards.
