Control Your Thoughts

from Horse Hippie’s Morning Mantras · host Horse Hippie

Morning Mantra: “Your emotional reaction doesn’t change the situation; it just changes how you feel about it.”My husband just left for a motorcycle trip. Last year he went on one and was in an accident. I'd love to feel excited for him, but all I feel is fear. I got so worked up thinking about his trip, that instead of cheering him on, I was in a state of despair.  I had worried myself to the point that I was convinced that it would happen again. That it was inevitable.I went for a long walk and sat with my fear. I found my way back to myself and I recognized that ruining the moment and my mood wasn’t going to change anything about his trip. It would just cloud my judgement, make me unpleasant to be around, and not help a damn thing.I decided to give my worry to God and stay POSITIVE.  I decided to focus on the fact that he would be more careful this time, that he wasn't going alone this time, and that the person he was going with was very cautious by nature.Could something happen- yes.  But he could also fulfill a dream of his and have a magical time. So, in this long-winded story I’m trying to say- YOU are in control of one thing that determines your outlook- your thoughts. Your thoughts determine your emotions, your emotions determine your mood.  Control your thoughts or they will control you.#BeAwareOfYourThoughts #BeHorsey #BeHippie #HorseHippie #MorningMantra #WordsToInspire #InspirationalQuotes #HorseHippieBoutique #SmallBusinessOwner #WomenOwned #HorseHippieBoutique
