Converge, Week 4 - Day 1: The Heart of Our Mission

Converge, Week 4 Day 1: The Heart of Our Mission Devotional Have you ever wondered what your true purpose is as a follower of Christ? It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and lose sight of what really matters. The answer is beautifully simple yet profoundly challenging: we are called to make disciples of Jesus Christ. This isn’t just another church program or ministry opportunity—it’s the very heartbeat of what it means to be a Christian. When we drift away from this central mission and start focusing on other things, we risk losing the essence of our faith entirely. Think about the people who have influenced your spiritual journey. Chances are, they were individuals who took seriously their calling to help others grow in faith. They didn’t just attend church; they invested in relationships that pointed others toward Jesus. Today, consider how your life reflects this mission. Are you living with intentionality about helping others discover and follow Christ? This doesn’t mean you need to be a pastor or missionary—it means recognizing that wherever God has placed you, you have opportunities to influence others for His kingdom. The beautiful truth is that God doesn’t expect you to have it all figured out before you start. He simply asks you to be faithful with what you know and to share that with others as you continue growing yourself. Bible Verse ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’ - Matthew 28:19-20 Reflection Question How can you begin to see your daily interactions and relationships as opportunities to fulfill the Great Commission? Quote The mission that Jesus gave to Christians is that we live to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Prayer Lord, help me to embrace the mission You’ve given me to make disciples. Open my eyes to the opportunities around me and give me courage to step into relationships with intentionality. Show me how to live in a way that draws others closer to You.
