Once a teen mom and college dropout, she defied the odds to become the founder and dean of 1 on 1 Technical and Theological College, the first degree-granting institution in Alabama established by an African American woman. Her college has served thousands of students across all 50 states. Shakea also leads in her community as the Second Vice President of the local NAACP chapter. She has received two Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards, three honorary doctorate degrees, and earned her associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in 2024 and 2025. Accepted into law school in 2024, she continues to break generational barriers while inspiring others through faith, education, and love.
