Pero no quiero hacerlo solo como una habilidad personal, sino sobre todo como una cualidad del conjunto de la escuela, como una característica cultural, que no se puede improvisar.En educación, la empatía es un principio básico: mirar al otro, escucharlo y entender qué hay detrás de lo que hace o dice, reconocer su manera de ser para poder personalizar el trato sin reducir los alumnos a una etiqueta, y hacerlo sin dejar de ser uno mismo. Todo educador debería tener esto integrado en su manera de hacer. Es tan evidente que casi no haría falta decirlo: no se puede educar sin empatía.Pero no basta vivir la empatía de forma personal. Hay que aspirar a algo más ambicioso: lograr en la escuela una cultura organizativaque sostenga y refuerce esta mirada. Que escuchar y comprender sea una manera compartida de hacer.
