But Mordecai refused to bow down or show him respect.”And in Esther 3:9–10 (NLT):“If it please the king, issue a decree that they be destroyed, and I will give 10,000 large sacks of silver to the government administrators to be deposited in the royal treasury.” The king agreed, confirming his decision by removing his signet ring from his finger and giving it to Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews.”Mordecai’s conviction came from knowing who he served — God alone. He refused to bow to man or fear, and his obedience became a turning point in Israel’s story.But King Xerxes’ weakness of conviction opened the door for evil to spread.When we live by our convictions instead of convenience, God moves through us.
