In New York City in the early twenties a writer finds a baely livable apartment in a rroming house.soon finding that directly above himlives an eccentric old doctor who requires an extremely cold living situation to stay alive.One day, the writer suffers a seizure and knowing his nearest neighbor is a doctor.he goes upstairs to ask for help.
