Cool Drizzly Sydney Morning
from Wake Up Sydney
Wake Up Sydney for Tuesday 18 August 2026 has your essential morning update on weather, traffic and trains across Sydney. Johnny Rocket reports a cool and drizzly start to the day, with showers possible across the city. The Sydney CBD is beginning at 10.9°C and heading for a top of 20°C, Parramatta starts at 10°C with a forecast high of 19°C, while Bondi is sitting at 12.5°C and expected to reach 18°C with a shower or two. On the roads, traffic is mostly moving well, but drivers should take care around Lucas Heights, where a car crash on New Illawarra Road at Rutherford Avenue is affecting northbound traffic. Motorists are urged to slow down, stay alert and give emergency crews plenty of room. For public transport, Blue Mountains Line maintenance continues through to Friday 21 August. Buses are replacing trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria, with some buses towards Mount Victoria leaving up to 15 minutes earlier than the regular train timetable. Trains are still running between Mount Victoria and Central on a changed timetable, and Bathurst services are operating to altered schedules. Passengers connecting with NSW TrainLink Regional Coaches at Lithgow should confirm their travel times by calling 132 232. Elsewhere, Sydney’s train network is running normally. Tune in to Wake Up Sydney for the latest updates to help you plan your day across Sydney and beyond.
