Cool Showers and Slow Roads

from Wake Up Sydney

Wake Up Sydney is here to start your Friday, 10 July 2026, with the latest on weather, traffic and trains across Sydney. Johnny Rocket brings you a cool and showery winter morning, with the Sydney CBD starting at 9°C and heading for a top of 17°C. Parramatta is sitting at 8.2°C, also reaching 17°C, while Bondi begins at 10.9°C with a top of 16°C. A shower or two is expected, so it’s a day to rug up and pack an umbrella. There’s some brighter news ahead for the weekend, with mostly sunny conditions forecast for Saturday and tops around 18–19°C across Sydney. On the roads, traffic is moving slower in a few key spots. A truck breakdown is affecting westbound traffic on Briens Road at Redbank Road in Northmead. In Yagoona, a bus and car crash is impacting eastbound traffic on the Hume Highway near Cooper Road, with emergency services on site. At Eastern Creek, a two-car crash on the M7 northbound just past the Great Western Highway has closed one lane and is causing heavy traffic. Public transport is looking excellent, with Sydney Trains and Metro operating normally across all lines for the fifth day in a row, with no incidents reported. Johnny wraps up by encouraging listeners to allow extra time on the roads, enjoy the smooth train services, and make the most of a cosy winter Friday in Sydney.
