Cool Sunday and Train Changes
from Wake Up Sydney
Wake Up Sydney brings you the latest on weather, traffic and trains for Sunday 23 August 2026. It’s a cool and slightly showery Sunday across Sydney, with the CBD starting at 12.7°C and heading for a top of 20°C. Parramatta is beginning at 11.6°C with a forecast high of 19°C, while Bondi is sitting at 13.7°C and expected to reach 18°C. With a shower or two on the way, it’s shaping up as more of a markets, cafés and raincoat kind of day than a beach day. On the roads, conditions are looking unusually clear, with no major incidents, breakdowns or delays reported across Sydney’s traffic network. The biggest travel issue today is on public transport, with extensive weekend trackwork affecting multiple train lines. Buses are replacing trains on parts of the T1 North Shore Line between Berowra and Gordon, and on services between Newcastle Interchange and Gordon, impacting Hunter, T9 Northern and Central Coast & Newcastle services. Further changes are in place between Hornsby and Strathfield, Olympic Park and Lidcombe, and on parts of the South Coast Line between Bomaderry, Port Kembla and Wollongong until late morning. Richmond, Blue Mountains, Leppington, Inner West, Cronulla, Waterfall, Bondi Junction and City Circle services are also seeing changed timetables or stopping patterns. Listeners are encouraged to check transport apps before leaving, allow extra travel time, and use the metro between Epping and the City where possible.
