A COP 29 chegou ao fim, e seu maior êxito foi evitar o total fracasso das negociações. Após muito drama e uma plenária que se estendeu pela madrugada, os países ricos se comprometeram a alcançar a meta de US$ 300 bilhões por ano até 2035 para apoiar os países em desenvolvimento na redução de emissões e na mitigação da crise climática. Embora o valor seja maior que a meta atual de US$ 100 bilhões, ainda está muito aquém do necessário, estimado em mais de um trilhão de dólares.Um avanço positivo foi o desfecho das negociações políticas em torno do mercado global de carbono.
