Core 52 | A Guide to Greatness — THE GOSPEL

The gospel is good news so large it can feel ordinary from overuse: that Jesus came, lived a perfect life, died for sin, and rose so anyone who receives him has life. This message insists that good news is most needed precisely where life is messiest. Working through Nehemiah's reaction to a broken Jerusalem and Matthew's genealogy — where Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary stand unashamedly in Jesus' line — the teaching argues God consistently brings the Messiah and his mission through chaos, not around it. The church is described as a triage for people still living in mess, not a showcase for the already-cleaned-up. Citing 1 Corinthians 1, the application is direct: sharing the gospel is telling what God has done for you, mess included, so others can relate to a Savior who entered the mess himself.
