Set within a full online service of worship and communion, the teaching turns to a subject Jesus addressed more than almost any other: money. The framing is disarming, since God does not need anyone's money; the issue is the heart. Drawing on Genesis 1:27 , Proverbs 11 , 2 Corinthians 9 , and Malachi 3 , the message argues that generosity is woven into human design because people are made in the image of a generous God, the God of John 3:16 who gave entirely. Sin distorts that design into stinginess. Five principles follow: trust God rather than wealth, take wisdom from Scripture, follow God's plan, use what God gives to do what God says, and obey, trusting that he more than meets needs. Generosity, in this view, is contagious and points others to Christ.
