Core 52 | Beyond Belief — Freedom
from LifeWell Messages
Of all the audacious things in Scripture, the message argues, grace can be the hardest to believe — that God does not condemn those in Christ no matter how far they have fallen. The text is John 8 and the woman caught in adultery. The teaching openly notes the textual questions around this passage, then defends preaching it because its core is consistent with everything Jesus taught. The scene exposes a crowd more interested in trapping Jesus than addressing sin, and the one person actually entitled to throw a stone — the sinless Jesus — instead extends grace. The dropping of stones is powerful but not the point. The point lands in the final line: "go and sin no more." Grace is meant to set free from sin, not license it — a truth Paul hammers in Romans 6 with his sharpest "by no means."
