Core 52 | Hidden Hope — ATONEMENT
from LifeWell Messages
An Easter message built on three empty things, each marked by emptiness so that God's promises prove trustworthy. It opens with a son who tossed aside his father's gift — a Bible — never finding the check inside, a picture of promises rejected for being too good to be true. The empty cross carries the promise of forgiveness. Defining sin as missing the mark and atonement as a debt paid by another, it presses that the death Jesus died ( Romans 6:23 , Romans 5:8 ) was the death we deserved — and addresses why neither a swoon nor a stolen body holds up. The empty tomb promises resurrection life, and the empty burial clothes — folded like a carpenter's finished work — declare it is finished. The cross couldn't hold him, the tomb couldn't contain him; the closing call is not to celebrate the resurrection but to duplicate it.
