Core 52 | Hidden Hope — WISDOM

This message on wisdom opens the Hidden Hope section with James 1 , written by Jesus' younger brother — a man who came to call himself a doulos , a servant-slave of the Christ he grew up alongside. Preached as the church met scattered amid the pandemic, it leans on James's hard counsel to “consider it pure joy” in trials — not pleasure in suffering, but the sincere joy of anticipated inheritance. Testing produces perseverance, and perseverance, maturity. Wisdom is asked of God and given generously. The decisive turn is application. Biblical wisdom manifests in action. Hiding behind “saved by grace, not works” can become an excuse not to do the word. From James 1:22–25 and Matthew 7:24 , knowing is less than half the battle; the wise build on the rock by doing.
