Core 52 | Singing the Sacred — FINDING HAPPINESS

This message walks the Beatitudes of Matthew 5 , noting that blessed can be read as happy — and that Jesus redefines happiness against the world's terms. It opens with the shift from the crowd to the disciples: a crowd wants Jesus when convenient; a disciple applies his words even when they don't make sense. Each beatitude is set against its “crowd” counterpart: poor in spirit versus self-sufficiency, mourning sin versus celebrating it, meekness as God-reliant strength versus weakness, hungering for righteousness versus the fruit punch of the world.
