Core 52 | So That You May Believe — INCARNATION
from LifeWell Messages
The opening five verses of John's Gospel are presented as among the most defining in Scripture for who Jesus is. "In the beginning was the Word" reaches past Bethlehem into eternity, and the Word is Jesus. The message draws out three claims from the prologue: the Word is eternally God, equally God, and essentially God — distinct from the Father in person yet one in essence, a glimpse of the Trinity that no one fully exhausts. The Greek Logos is unpacked as a term that gripped both Greek and Hebrew hearers. From there John presents Jesus as Creator of all things and the originator of life and light. Christianity, the teaching stresses, is not a philosophy but a person — and John's purpose, stated in John 20:31, is that believing this would lead to life and to acting on that belief.
