La guerra de Corea es conocida como la guerra olvidada. Mientras la Segunda Guerra Mundial y la guerra de Vietnam son las más mundialmente conocidas, otras como la de Corea han quedado en un segundo plano, casi en el olvido. La guerra de Corea fue un conflicto muy sangriento que tuvo lugar entre los años 1950-1953 y que acabó con la vida de más de 3 millones de personas. Corea del Sur, Estados Unidos y sus aliados, Corea del Norte y China, estuvieron implicados. El documental ahonda en las causas que dieron lugar a la guerra de Corea, su proceso y las atrocidades que se cometieron por parte de ambos bandos, apoyándose en entrevistas con soldados que combatieron o civiles que se vieron implicados, lo que da al documental varias perspectivas. Incluso hay actores que leen diarios de personajes históricamente relevantes, como el General Douglas MacArthur. La guerra finalizó en armisticio en el año 1953, quedando los límites ente Corea del Norte y Corea el Sur igual que antes de la guerra, de ahí el título del documental “la guerra inacabada”. El título no deja lugar a dudas sobre la situación de la península coreana hoy en día: mientras Corea del Sur vive en una próspera democracia, Corea del Norte continúa con una dictadura tipo Stalinista.
