Corky Miller played parts of 17 years of professional baseball accruing just over 500 at bats in the big leagues. That type of longevity, especially with so many years in the minor leagues takes a special love of the game, though Corky might say it was really more about perspective. 

That attitude got his number 8 jersey retired by the Louisville Bats and enabled him to step right into a coaching career after his playing days ended. 

I talked to Corky about adapting to changes in the game, having the humility to help young players who pass you by and thrive in the majors and the special bonds you make with other players in the minor leagues. 

I loved Corky’s message of humility and willingness to change and evolve with new ideas and information.
