It was right before the 2012 season when the LA Galaxy signed Inglewood native, Jose Villarreal. He showed tremendous promise as part of the LA Galaxy Academy and that excitement filled over into his inaugural season. Then, in 2013, Villarreal started 12 games and made 22 appearances in this "break-out" season. Trying to build on that momentum, and buried behind Robbie Keane in the depth chart, the Galaxy loaned Jose out to Cruz Azul. He didn't play with the 1st team and ended up coming back to the LA Galaxy before the loan was up. Was his confidence crushed? His trajectory ruined?
