Coronavirus outbreak: B.C. introduces mental health hotline for post-secondary students

The government of British Columbia has launched a mental health hotline and counselling service for post-secondary students struggling to cope amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemicMinister of Advanced Education Melanie Mark and Mental Health Minister Judy Darcy made the announcement Thursday afternoon.The ministers say the new mental health counselling and referral service dubbed “Here2Talk” will be free to all post-secondary students and will be offered by phone, web or through an app available on both android and apple products.The program will give students access to qualified and experienced counsellors “who have the expertise in dealing with common challenges faced by students.”Mark said the government would invest $1.5 million per year over the next three years in the program.For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/tag/coronavirus/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/depictions-media--4208927/support.
