With this premier episode of The Corridor, we feature a story from Keith Dempsey of the Brockville Recorder and Times for the Local Journalism Initiative about a 35-acre land gift given to the Town of Gananoque.  We also have an article by LJI Reporter Owen Fullerton for YGK News about  the Kingston Health Coalition and several hospital unions engaging in a large protest at Queen’s Park on September 25th 2023.  Further, Michelle Dorey Forestell, LJI Reporter for the Kingstonist reported on moral dilemmas associated with the overdose prevention site housed at Collins Bay Institution, one of Kingston’s largest penitentiaries.  These stories were read by host Dinah Jansen and Queen’s University History Department Interns Mia Lehtinen and Katrina Johnston.

Additionally, CFRC FM’s own LJI Reporter Chris Lawrie reports on an exhibit at Stauffer Library in Kingston that showcased Indigenous artists ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.  Ted Evans, LJI Reporter for CJAI FM (Amherst Island) reported on Loyalist Township’s recent enactment of a new tree canopy and vegetation bylaw and the Township’s recent call for public input on its master plan and budget.  We also have two reports from Alexander Wright, LJI Reporter from CJPE FM in Picton on Prince Edward County’s Council amendments to short term accommodations rules to make them more family friendly and Council’s recent approval of its spot road repair program and street sweeper replacement plan.  Jeff Gard, LJI Reporter from CFWN FM in Coburg also reported on the community’s Walk-a-Mile event in support of Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention.
