He is also the CEO of Landlord BC. Lisa Helps is a former advisor to the Premier, as well as a former mayor of Victoria. Now she heads the BC Builds program. Sadhu Johnston is a former City DIrector of Vancouver, and wears many hats on Cortes Island in addition to being Executive Director of the Cortes Community Housing Society. In his introduction to the program, Johnston pointed out, “Building in rural communities is even harder than building in urban communities. In many cases you've got to bring in materials, you have labor shortages. There are unique challenges that we face in our rural communities.”
