El ministro en retiro de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SCJN), José Ramón Cossío, consideró que el informe de la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) sobre desapariciones en México es “un informe amplio, muy bien ordenado, muy bien escrito”, que además distingue entre distintos perfiles de víctimas y las causas de las desapariciones. Conchita Belmontes buscó durante 10 años a su hijo, Juan Antonio Olmeda Belmontes, desaparecido el 26 de junio de 2016 en Zapopan, Jalisco. En entrevista con Carmen Aristegui, relató que apenas el 8 de mayo de 2026 fue notificada de un dictamen que, según le informaron, identificaba restos de su hijo en el SEMEFO.
