Tiny kittens, unwanted puppies, lost rabbits, and roaming chickens were among the animals rehomed by Louth Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in the past year. The charity is bracing itself for the post-Christmas surge in unwanted pets with voluntary inspector Fiona Squibb saying that the demand for its services are the highest she’d ever seen.Fiona has also welcomed the recent grant of €50,350 which was announced by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Marin Heydon T.D, before Christmas, which she says “will assist us in providing care for the animals in need.”.Fiona joined us on The Agenda this morning to talk to us some more about this.
