Could Auburn or Alabama Win The NCAA Tournament? | College Basketball Bracketology, March Madness
from College Basketball Show With Jim Dunaway and Taylor Korn · host DBL Down Media
After another week of conference play, Auburn remains undefeated in SEC play and the Tigers alongside Alabama are a perfect 4-0 on the road. In Joe Lunardi’s latest Bracketology, Auburn is the No. 1 overall seed and Alabama is the No. 2 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament. The last time two SEC teams were 1 seeds was 1980 (Kentucky and LSU). If you look back at the past 23 National Champions, they all have one thing in common: they ended the season ranked in the Top-25 of Kenpom’s adjusted defensive efficiency and the Top-40 of Kenpom’s adjusted offensive efficiency. There are currently 14 teams who fall into both of those categories. Chris Youngblood had a season high 23 points in Alabama’s last outing on the road vs Mississippi State and is starting to emerge as an X-Factor for this Alabama team. Youngblood, Aden Holloway, and Miles Kelly are our picks for most impactful newcomers in Tuscaloosa and Auburn this season. UP NEXT: We preview both the Auburn-Ole Miss and Alabama-Georgia matchups that will take place this Saturday. This might be Auburn’s toughest test yet — could Chris Beard and the Ole Miss Rebels hand Auburn their first conference loss of the season?
