Council Work Celebrated Nationwide

Today marks Your Council Day 2026, a national campaign highlighting the vital role local authorities play in supporting communities and delivering services that people rely on every day.   Here in Clare, the County Council employs more than 1,000 staff and provides over 1,000 services, many of which happen behind the scenes but have a real impact on daily life.   To give us an insight into some of that work, Alan Morrissey was joined by three members of Clare County Council staff: Communications Officer Claire Gallagher, Age Friendly Development Officer Shanelle Waring, and Tourism, Festivals and Events Graduate and Clare Fire Service Firefighter Daragh Ryan.   They told him about their roles and the part they play in supporting communities across the county.
