It explains why redefining justification as simply "who is in the covenant people" and denying imputation does not just tweak an emphasis but effectively guts the gospel Paul proclaims. And it presses this truth into the heart, showing how Christ's counted righteousness gives trembling believers real assurance in life, in suffering, and at the hour of death.
