Counted Worthy with Dr. Connor Bales :: [Episode 165]

from The Wonder Podcast · host The Wonder Podcast

What a gift it was for Dr. Connor Bales to join us and share with us the message from his new book, "Counted Worthy."   Connor received a landscape architecture degree from Texas Tech University, but 10 years into his career, he felt God's call to full-time ministry.  Married with kids, he embarked on a journey that has taken him from the Dallas area to east Texas and back to Dallas, more specifically Prosper, TX as the lead pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church – North Campus.     Connor and his wife, Mary, who you might remember was a guest on our podcast back in May 2020, have five children.  Two of their daughters have a rare chromosomal abnormality called Trisomy 16P.   Connor shares that after they received the news that their daughter Hannah had the same diagnosis as her older sister, Libby, he felt God's presence immediately and heard the words, "I've counted you worthy." There is tension between "God is good" and "Life is really hard." Connor is real about this tension and hopes to encourage anyone in the midst of a struggle to get real with God.  If he were sitting with you right now, he would say these things, "I'm sorry." "What you are going through is awful." "God loves you."  Romans 8:18 says, "For the sufferings of this present time are not worthy of being compared to the glory to be revealed to us."  Thank you, Connor, for joining us.  You'll love his message of hope in Jesus Christ.     Order your copy of "Counted Worthy" on Amazon or grab a copy at the Prestonwood Baptist Church bookstore.   Thanks for listening to this episode of The Wonder Podcast!
