County approves fire code updates, wildfire agreement, fairgrounds contract

The Box Elder County Commission approved several agreements and code updates May 27, including adoption of updated fire codes, approval of a wildfire cost-sharing agreement with the state and a contract bringing the Utah Horse Pullers Association back to the county fairgrounds. Box Elder County Fire Marshal Kevin Lloyd said the county is adopting the 2024 International Fire Code after the state approved it. The updated code takes effect July 1 and includes adoption of the code appendices.
