County approves reimbursement for indigent burial

The Box Elder County Commission approved a [post_excerpt],200 reimbursement July 7 to Myers Mortuary for services provided through the county’s indigent burial program. Utah law authorizes counties to fund burial and cremation services for qualifying indigent individuals. Box Elder County operates one of those programs. The reimbursement included [post_excerpt],043 for professional services and a 7 Utah cremation/transit permit. During the discussion, Commissioner Lee Perry said the county plans to contact Lindquist Mortuaries, which now operates Aaron’s Mortuary and Gillies Funeral Chapel in Brigham City, to ensure the company is aware of the county’s indigent burial program following the ownership changes....
