Couple Recovers Stolen Dog Without Police | Las Vegas News

A Vegas couple reclaimed their 12-year-old Yorkie, Ricky, after he was snatched from their yard—thanks to a viral social media tip and a clever sting operation. Spotting a suspect with pinkish-red hair on camera, they tracked her down via Facebook Marketplace fake listings, even baiting her with the hope Ricky would bark. When she finally canceled meetups, a tip led them to a Walgreens where Ricky was found in a beat-up white car—with two men demanding $4K for his return. The owners refused, confirmed Ricky’s identity by a unique skin tag, and walked away. Now, they’re handing all intel to Metro Police, hoping to shut down a dog-stealing ring that preys on pet owners’ heartbreak.
