Court rejects claim that Trengove has a conflict of interest

SAfm — Both parties involved in the Tom Moyane court case will make representations in the North Gauteng High Court tomorrow. This after Judge Hans Fabricius rejected the claim that advocate Wim Trengove has a conflict of interest, as claimed by former SARS boss Tom Moyane's legal defence. The former SARS Commissioner wants to reinstatated seeks to interdict the appointment of his successor. Moyane was fired by President Cyril Ramaphosa last month on the recommendation of Retired Judge Robert Nugent's interim report. Nugent, who chairs the SARS commission of inquiry found that Moyane's tenure at the tax agency had been damaging and advised that Moyane be removed. Advocate Dali Mpofu, who's representing Moyane has complained that Trengove who's representing retired Judge Robert Nugent is in conflict of interest because he is now representing the judge.
