In Rabbi Steve Berkson’s last teaching we learned that the inheritance, of which the larger portion would normally go to the “first-born”, was split between two of the sons of Ya’akov, his adopted son Ephrayim and his son Yehuda. Yehuda would receive the authority aspect of the inheritance and Ephrayim would receive the rest.
