Salvation does not begin with a human decision, but with God's purpose before the world existed. In John 17, the Father gives the Son a people and a task: Jesus must give them eternal life, and the Father promises Him glory. The Father chooses them, the Son dies for them, and the Holy Spirit brings them from spiritual death to faith. Nothing rests on human worth or will.
