Covert, Deception or just a lie?

While many would consider the ministry of Yeshua (Jesus) to be a covert mission, he and his disciples were typically quite honest with people most of the time. There are times we read about when Peter denied he even knew Yeshua the he was in fear for his life but does this give Christians today the authorization to deceive others into accepting Yeshua as their lord?
