Covid-19: 124 New Cases in Morocco, 3,692 in Total, Health Ministry - chaîne Inter SNRT News Updates

A total of 124 new cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) were confirmed in Morocco until Friday at 10 a.m., bringing the total number of covid-19 cases in the kingdom to 3,692. Twenty-two new recoveries were registered over the given period, bringing the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients to 478, the source points out, adding that 155 people died from coronavirus complications since the start of the outbreak. The suspected cases excluded following negative tests are 19,124, the source adds. The ministry urges citizens to observe rules of hygiene, implement the precautionary measures issued by the public authorities, act with responsibility and show patriotism. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced Saturday, April 25 as the first day of Ramadan in Morocco. The Interior Ministry announced the ban on night movement as of Ramadan 1st between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., as part of the strengthening of the health emergency measures during the holy month. In a press release, the department stressed in this regard that citizens are strictly prohibited from leaving their homes or being in public spaces during this time whether on foot or on board different transport vehicles, with the exception of people working in vital and essential sectors and activities. During the night movement ban period, exceptional movement authorizations issued by local authorities and work movement authorizations issued by the public and private sectors will be suspended, the statement said. While welcoming the spirit of responsibility and the strong adherence of citizens to respecting the various preventive measures that remain in force throughout the day, the public authorities stressed that the local authorities and security services will ensure the application of the strict control measures on anyone in public areas with the exception of restrictions announced in the press release, under penalty of legal proceedings under the provisions of the legislative decree-law relating to the state of health emergency and procedures of its declaration, in particular article 4, added the ministry.
