COVID-19 Update: March 17, 2021

On Wednesday, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported 454 new cases and 6 new deaths. That brings the statewide total to 176,461 known cases and 1,935 deaths. Central District Health reports another case of the UK variant identified in Idaho. That makes 8 cases in Idaho with that strain of the virus, which is thought to be more infectious and may be associated with an increased risk of death. Starting Monday, all Idahoans 55 and older will be eligible to get a vaccine. For more information, visit covidvaccine.idaho.gov.
