COVID Rising

Flathead County has seen a drastic increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in recent weeks, including 42 hospitalizations on Aug. 17, breaking the single-day record set last November during the pandemic’s peak. Logan Health reports its adult acute-care capacity has been exceeded and that the current surge in cases, driven by the highly infectious Delta variant, has likely yet to hit its peak. Flathead Beacon managing editor Myers Reece routinely talks with local hospital and health department officials to stay updated status of the virus in the valley and joined host Micah Drew to share the latest statistics and worries from around the valley.
