Cowboys Minicamp Preview: Focus on Pickens and Personnel

The Dallas Cowboys are entering a critical phase of their offseason as they transition from voluntary practices to a mandatory minicamp. A primary focus of the event is the return of wide receiver George Pickens, who has been absent due to ongoing contract disputes after being designated with the franchise tag. While the team does not intend to offer him a long-term extension, coaches plan to manage his workload carefully to prioritize player health. Beyond the contract drama, the team is evaluating how younger prospects fill the gaps left by several key players currently sidelined with injuries. Additionally, the coaching staff is closely monitoring the defensive unit's progress under new leadership as they strive for more consistency. This three-day session serves as the final preparation before the squad departs for training camp in California.
