Send us Fan MailWhat's up to my Universalist Umbrellabirds (it's a real thing) and Mirthful Magnanimous Magpies (ka kaawww cawww)! It's your BNP here, dishin' out that weekly dose of top shelf paradisiacal content, mere days after the Autumnal Equinox and Pagan Sabbat of Mabon. Mabon is a good opportunity to take stock of one's current situation, both individually and collectively. One thing that's indisputable: it hasn't been boring. Regardless, this is an auspicious time to take note of and appreciate the many blessings that sustain you, and to orient yourself towards a healthy, happy and productive Winter. We've done our time in the open air bread oven here in Phoenix, and we are all thirsty af for some temperate breezes and blue skies that won't give you heat stroke. The desert rabbits by the river are all aquiver with the coming bounty of fresh grasses, yummy forbs (what's a forb, you ask? Click here) and nourishing mesquite pods. And speaking of nourishment (better switch to 4x4 because the segueways are getting Rough) this episode, Part Two of the BNP series Crafting Sobriety from the Chaos of Alcoholism, hopes to provide some food (or healthy drink, like kombucha) for the soul, and particularly aims to deliver some idea vitamins and impetus minerals for those struggling with addiction, particularly addiction to alcohol. The sauce, the bottle, the brain rattler and the fire water. Worthy fuckin' adversary. I'm joined on this quest by shapeshifter bobcat and friend of the show Marta Orozco, who hops on the pod to finish the conversation we began in Part One. Marta is a gift of insight, humor and grace, and I am so thankful for her presence on this episode. We cover a lot of ground and manage to touch on a bunch of the relevant topics we aimed to elucidate at the outset. It's my sincerest wish that these episodes resonate with even just one person out there who feels outgunned and overwhelmed by their battle with alcohol. As always, feel free to contact me at [email protected] with comments, questions, or if you'd just like to chat. It's an honor to be there for anyone grappling with addiction of any kind. We have to be there for each other.Big thank you to all the glorious listeners out there spreading the word about the BNP.
