"Craig Terlson"
from The Speakeasy: Conversations with the #WritingCommunity Hosted by Offer Kuban
Hello! Welcome back to the show. This is our first "All-Canadian" episode, and we had the chance to sit down and chat with another two wonderful authors from the Writing Community. Glad you could join us, and I hope you enjoy the show. Cheers! Several key points & names came up during our chat, so I've added them here. It's a good reference point, and I know will add one or more to my TBR (to be read) pile at some point soon. Referenced: -"The Samurai Archives" (a podcast) -"The Book of the Five Rings: A Classic Text on the Japanese Way of the Sword" by Miyamoto Musashi and Thomas Clearly (2005) -"The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma" by Bessel van der Kolk MD (2015) -Short story writers mentioned: George Saunders, Alice Munro, Richard Ford -The Hero's Journey -"A Visit From the Goon Squad" (2010) and "The Candy House" (2022) by Jennifer Egan (American author) -philosophy of Solipsism -Guy Gavriel Kay (Canadian author)
