Although Mr. Gundlach is a hero in most situations, when it comes to bats he is the opposite. Mr. Gundlach told us that there was a winged mammal in the school. He sounded like he was about to die. Mr. Gundlach said that he thought he should go home, but he would never know what courage was. He saw a bat-like crack in the ceiling that he thought was a bat, but it was cracked paint. The structure looked like it was about to fall. He almost went out the door, but he came back and said his fears got the better of him. He probably felt like all the happiness was sucked out of the room. Then he got a crazy idea! He thought that when he put a basket on his head, the winged mammals would not be able to get him. When he got that idea it was like he won a million bucks. All in all Mr. Gundlach is afraid of bats.
