Beware of Mexican Feather Grass, a very popular landscape plant ,but it is now considered invasive and a fire hazard. Those dead palm fronds up in the canopy easily catch fire. “Oily” plants like cypress are drought-tolerant but very flammable. Brush clearance 100 feet from structures is the rule of thumb.
